RingConn Warranty: 1-Year Coverage, What's NOT Covered & How to Claim

Short answer: RingConn includes a 1-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects, sensor failures, and charging issues. Does not cover physical damage, water damage from misuse, battery wear, or lost rings. Claims go through support@ringconn.com with order number and proof of issue.
Warranty coverage overview
| What’s covered | What’s NOT covered |
|---|---|
| Manufacturing defects | Physical damage (drops, cracks, scratches) |
| Sensor malfunction (HR, SpO2, temperature not working) | Water damage beyond IP68 rating |
| Charging case failure | Lost or stolen rings |
| Firmware/software bugs causing malfunction | Normal battery degradation |
| Finish defects (peeling coating, discoloration without cause) | Cosmetic wear from normal use |
| Bluetooth connectivity issues (hardware-related) | Incorrect sizing (fit issues) |
Warranty period
- Standard: 1 year from date of purchase
- Starts: Date on order receipt (not shipping date, not delivery date)
- Proof required: Order number or receipt from authorized seller
- Non-transferable: Warranty only valid for original purchaser
Where you buy matters:

What manufacturing defects mean
Covered examples:
- Ring stops charging despite clean contacts and working cable
- Heart rate sensor stops reading entirely
- SpO2 measurements consistently fail
- Bluetooth won’t pair despite troubleshooting
- Ring casing separates or coating peels without external force
- Charging case stops working
- Ring arrives dead and won’t charge from first use
Not covered (user damage):
- Ring cracked after dropping
- Water ingress after scratching/denting the ring
- Battery life dropped because you left it in 60°C sauna for hours daily
- Sensors covered in lotion/dirt and not reading accurately
- Ring worn too loose, metrics inaccurate
Battery degradation policy
What’s normal: All lithium batteries degrade over time. RingConn’s 7-day battery life refers to new units. After 1-2 years, expect 5-6 days. After 3+ years, expect 4-5 days.
What’s warranty-covered: Battery life dropping to <2 days within the first year with normal use indicates a defective battery. That’s covered.
What’s not covered: Gradual decline over years. Batteries are consumables.
Water damage and IP68 rating
RingConn is rated IP68: dust-proof and water-resistant to 100 meters for 30 minutes.
Warranty covers:
- Ring failed during normal shower
- Ring failed while swimming in pool (chlorine at normal levels)
- Ring failed from sweat during workouts
Warranty does NOT cover:
- Diving beyond 100m depth
- Hot water damage (sauna >60°C, hot tub >40°C repeated exposure)
- Saltwater corrosion from months of daily ocean swimming
- Water ingress after physical damage compromised seals
How to file a warranty claim
Step 1: Gather information
Before contacting support, have ready:
- Order number (from email receipt or account)
- Purchase date (must be within 1 year)
- Description of the issue: When it started, what you’ve tried
- Photos or video: Show the problem (e.g., ring won’t charge, sensor readings stuck at zero, physical defect)
Step 2: Contact RingConn support
Email: support@ringconn.com
Subject line: “Warranty Claim - Order #[your order number]”
Include:
Order number: [12345678]
Purchase date: [YYYY-MM-DD]
Ring model: [Gen 3 / Gen 2 Air / Gen 2]
Issue description: [Ring stopped charging after 3 months. Charging case LED turns on, but ring shows no charge response. Cleaned contacts, tried different cables, no change.]
Photos attached: [charging_case_connected.jpg, ring_in_case.jpg]
Troubleshooting attempted: [Factory reset via app, cleaned magnetic contacts with alcohol wipe, tried different USB-C cable and power adapter]
Step 3: Wait for assessment
- Response time: 1-3 business days (usually faster)
- Assessment: RingConn reviews your claim and photos
- Outcome: Approved claims get repair, replacement, or refund

- You can appeal with additional evidence
- Out-of-warranty repair may be offered at cost
Warranty claim response times
| Stage | Typical timeframe |
|---|---|
| Initial support response | 1-3 business days |
| Claim assessment | 1-2 business days |
| Replacement shipped (US) | 5-7 business days after return received |
| Replacement shipped (international) | 10-15 business days |
Faster during non-holiday periods. Holiday seasons (November-December, Chinese New Year) may add delays.
Extended warranty options
RingConn does not sell extended warranties.
Alternatives:
- Credit card protection: Many credit cards automatically extend manufacturer warranties by 1 year. Check your card benefits.
- Third-party electronics warranty: SquareTrade, Extend, Mulberry may cover smart rings. Read fine print carefully.
- Homeowners/renters insurance: Some policies cover electronics. Check deductibles.
Return policy vs warranty
Return policy = change your mind, don’t like it, wrong size → return for refund (usually 30 days)
Warranty = ring is defective or broken through no fault of yours → repair or replacement (1 year)
Different policies, different timeframes. See RingConn return policy →
Tips to maximize warranty coverage
- Register your device: Save order confirmation email. Screenshot order number.
- Document issues early: If something seems off (inconsistent readings, charging slower than spec), document it immediately. Photos + dates help claims.
- Try troubleshooting first: RingConn support will ask what you’ve tried. Attempting basic fixes (restart, firmware update, clean contacts) strengthens your case.
- Don’t open the ring: Tampering voids warranty. No DIY battery replacement attempts.
- Keep original packaging: Not required, but makes returns cleaner.
The bottom line
RingConn’s 1-year warranty is standard for the category (Oura and Samsung Galaxy Ring also offer 1 year). It covers legitimate manufacturing defects and sensor failures, which are the most common failure modes for smart rings.
Physical damage and water misuse are your responsibility. Treat the ring as a precision health device, not an indestructible wedding band, and warranty coverage should be sufficient for peace of mind.
