Our approach
The Smart Ring Lab is a research-based site. We don’t claim to have personally tested every product in a lab.
Instead, we write guides based on:
- Patterns from long-form reviews from trusted sources
- User discussions where the same issues repeat
- Official specifications and manufacturer documentation
- Common troubleshooting threads and support forums
When something shows up repeatedly (sizing mistakes, sync frustration, workout disappointment), we write about it.
What we don’t do
We don’t:
- Accept sponsored reviews or paid placements
- Remove negative information to please brands
- Claim personal testing unless we actually did it
- Make medical claims about health tracking devices
We do:
- Include downsides and limitations for every product
- Link to sources when we reference specific data
- Update content when new information becomes available
- Correct errors when readers point them out
Health and medical disclaimer
Smart rings are wellness devices, not medical devices.
This site does NOT provide medical advice. Content about:
- Heart rate accuracy
- Sleep staging
- Blood pressure trends
- HRV and stress scores
- SpO2 monitoring
…is for informational purposes only. It describes what the devices measure, not what those measurements mean for your health.
If you have health concerns, consult a medical professional. Do not use smart ring data to diagnose or treat any condition.
Corrections and updates
We update content when:
- New product versions are released
- User feedback reveals errors
- Official specs change
- New research or reviews provide better information
If you find an error, email hello@thesmartringlab.com. We review corrections within 48 hours and update accordingly.
Sources and attribution
When we reference specific data, we link to the source:
- Official product pages for specs
- Trusted review sites for testing results
- User forums for common issues
- Scientific papers when relevant (rare, but we do this for accuracy topics)
We don’t fabricate data. If we don’t have a source, we say “based on user reports” or “common pattern observed.”
Affiliate relationships
We participate in affiliate programs. This means some links earn commissions.
