The two routines that actually work

Shower routine (best for most people):

  1. Drop ring in case before shower
  2. Shower takes 10-15 minutes → ring gets 20-30% charge
  3. Do this daily or every other day
  4. You never think about battery again

Desk routine (for office workers):

  1. Keep case next to keyboard or monitor
  2. Drop ring in during one specific meeting (standup, lunch)
  3. 30 minutes gives 40-50% charge
  4. Ring goes back on after the meeting

The key is attaching charging to an existing habit, not creating a new one.

Charging case placement matters

Good locations:

  • Bathroom counter (next to toothbrush)
  • Desk surface (visible, not in a drawer)
  • Nightstand (charge while reading before sleep)

Bad locations:

  • Inside a drawer (out of sight = forgotten)
  • In your bag (you’ll never open it at the right time)
  • Next to your phone charger (too many cables competing for attention)

Common charging problems and fixes

Ring won’t charge (LED doesn’t light up):

  • Clean the charging contacts on both ring and case with a dry cloth
  • Make sure the ring is seated correctly (the contacts must align)
  • Try a different USB-C cable — cheap cables sometimes don’t deliver enough power

Case itself won’t charge:

  • Use a 5V/1A or higher adapter (phone chargers work fine)
  • Some laptop USB ports don’t output enough power — use a wall adapter instead

Ring charges slowly:

  • Normal if battery was completely dead (first 10% charges slower)
  • Check that the case itself has charge (LED should indicate)
  • Temperature affects charging speed — avoid charging in very cold environments

Travel tips

  • The charging case holds 3-4 full ring charges, so for trips under 2 weeks you don’t need the USB-C cable at all
  • The case is small enough for a pants pocket — don’t overthink packing
  • Airport security: keep it in your bag, it won’t trigger anything
  • If you forget the case on a weekend trip: Gen 3 lasts 12-17 days anyway, you’ll survive
